Heritage Isle Credit Union Ltd is committed to the protection of personal information. The Privacy Act now applies to the private sector, which must observe the National Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 1988. The principles came into effect from 21 December, 2001. Personal information means information or an opinion (including when in a database), whether true or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion. This policy applies to information collected on or after 21 December 2001 and explains how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information. We will only use or disclose your personal information as set out in this policy, and for a purpose you would reasonably expect, or for a purpose required or authorised by law, or for a purpose otherwise disclosed to, or authorised by you. In relation to personal information collected prior to 21 December 2001 and to which the National Privacy Principles apply, such information is hereby deemed to be compliant with these principles at 21 December 2001. Additionally, Heritage Isle Credit Union Ltd will in accordance with those relevant principles:- - take reasonable steps to ensure that the information, if used, is accurate, complete and up-to-date;
- take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss or unauthorised access or disclosure;
provide you with access to the information if we still use it; - not use any Commonwealth government identifier to identify you; and
only transfer such information overseas with your consent or as authorised by the Principles. - The related entity provides financial services which are related or ancillary to those Heritage Isle Credit Union provides, unless you tell Heritage Isle Credit Union not to do so.
You must let Heritage Isle Credit Union know if you do not wish it to disclose information about you to a related entity providing related financial or ancillary services.
