This year, we decided to ask Santa what his top five holiday destinations are after a busy Christmas period.

Vancouver, Canada
After finishing his work for the season, Santa enjoys a soak in a hot tub after a long day carving up Whistler’s slopes. With the largest ski area in North America, he loves to hone his skills and get away from it all behind his ski mask. Santa says that fresh snowfall is more likely the two months after Christmas, making it the perfect time for you to get out on the slopes.

Connecting with his more folk traditional roots may influence Santa to head to Austria after he’s done his world trip dropping off presents. Krampus and Percht get up to mischief in Salzburg’s streets for the holiday season, and the fairy-tale atmosphere that pulls on the old Christmas stories brings an unforgettable touch to the experience, even after the actual holiday is over.

Japan is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the top skiing destinations, drawing Santa in every few years. After a quick stop over in Tokyo and a visit to the Harajuku district for some new clothes, he recommends that you head to Hokkaido to spend a week or so on the powder with a ramen to warm you up at the end of the day.
